Mission Statement

The  Dallas Metroplex Foster Parent Association “DMFPA” is committed to supporting foster and adoptive families who in turn nurture the children in our community who have suffered neglect and abuse. PurposeThe Metroplex Foster Parent Association “DMFPA” is committed to supporting foster and adoptive families who in turn nurture the children in our community whohave suffered neglect and abuse. Our dedication to our foster and adoptive parents reaches out on many levels by:
·         Providing a network of support through communication, camaraderie and community education to foster and adoptive parents as they are challenged to meet the needs of the children in their care.
·         Promoting quality continuing education and training for foster and adoptive parents.
·         Encouraging the recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive parents. They are a most valuable resource in caring for the children placed in the state’s care and custody.
·         Promoting a positive image of foster and adoptive parents and their children and educating the community on the vast needs of children in foster and adoptive families.
·         Being aware of current and proposed legislation affecting foster and adoptive children.
·         Becoming effective advocates for our children at all levels.We (DMFPA) are all members of the Texas Foster Family Association as we joined as a group. TSFPI publishes a newsletter three times a year entitled TEXAS PROGRESS REPORT. The newsletter is a professionally produced periodical chocked full of vital information for individuals interested in the foster care system of Texas. ·         Have ready access to legislative updates and the opportunity to participate in legislative lobbying efforts.
·         Receive training at state conferences and regional mini-conferences.
·         Children in your care become eligible for assistance from the Scholarship Fund.
