About Us
The Dallas Metroplex Foster Parent Association (DMFPA) offers assistance to caregivers whose often difficult mission is to foster and adopt abused and neglected children. This non-profit, volunteer-run organization, in partnership with child welfare professionals, champions child safety and welfare through advocacy and education.
Our outreach programs include, but are not limited to:
Ø Continuing education and training for foster and adoptive parents
Ø Recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive parents
Ø At-large representation of foster families to the community
Ø Education of the community on the needs of children in foster and adoptive families
The Dallas Metroplex Foster Parents Association meets
on the second Tuesday of the month
from 7 pm- 9 pm at

Join DMFPA Today!
Membership in the DMFPA is open to licensed foster parents and/or other supporting persons. At this time, over 150 families are members of Dallas Metroplex Foster Parent Association.
The membership fee for each family is $15 per DMFPA fiscal year, September through August. (All membership renewals are due at the end of August.) Your membership entitles you to comprehensive resources to help you navigate the foster system, as well as find respite care, training and other community resources potentially “hidden” from the lone foster family. Every quarter, you may sign-up for our Foster Parents’ Night Out, for which the association provides childcare. Every year, the association finances holiday parties, family picnics, community awareness projects, special training and much more. Please contact us if we may answer any of your questions.
